John Baird Contractors
Covering all aspects of tree surgery.
Tree surgery is about maintaining the health and safety of a tree as well as its aesthetic or safely felling a tree if it’s necessary.
Tree pruning is when a tree is not being felled and needs to be maintained. Tree pruning not only improves the health of the tree but it can also improve the trees sturdiness and its ability at withstanding harsh weather such as high winds. The removal of diseased branches can help prevent disease spreading throughout the tree and into other nearby wildlife. The removal of dead or dying branches can also prevent these from falling and hurting someone or damaging property that is below the tree. Tree pruning also can refer to services involving the crown of the tree. The crown is the main part of the tree and can be thinned or raised if the trees branches are in the way.
Should a tree need to be felled there are 2 main ways of doing this. The first is straight tree felling where the tree is cut at the base and allowed to fall to the ground in a controlled manner. In some areas this method isn’t viable due to the space around the tree being limited. This is when the tree would be felled by sectional tree felling this is where the tree is dismantled starting at the top and lowered. This is used when spaces are tight and/or where nearby property could be at risk.
These services need to be carried out by professionals in a safe and controlled manner to avoid expensive damage to property and potential harm to people. Here at John Bairds Contractors all our staff are trained and are very experienced in tree surgery.
